Amidst the ongoing Me Too movement, Tanushree Dutta takes a break, signs off from social media

After Tanushree Dutta renewed a decade old sexual harassment case against Nana Patekar which took place on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleassss, the actress never expected that she’d become the frontrunner for the #MeToo movement. From addressing the media to lodging a complaint against Nana Patekar and producers of the film, Tanushree has had a hectic month in Mumbai. And as a result, this Former Miss India has finally decided to take a break from the hustle-bustle.

As soon as Tanushree came out in the open and accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment, a lot of other women have mustered up the courage and spoken up against their sexual predators. From Sajid Khan, Anu Malik, Suhel Seth, Jatin Das, Kailash Kher and Subhash Ghai, among others, a lot of prominent personalities have come under the scanner. And amidst all this, it is only humane for Tanushree to take a break and travel to a peaceful location. A source close to Tanushree informed The Asian Age, “She has bitten off more than she can chew. Constant media interactions and attacks by the likes of Rakhi Sawant have depleted her energy. She has taken off to a health spa near Pune hoping to catch her breath. She is totally off the internet and her phone. She wants to spend her time deciding her future course of action.”

After filing an FIR against Nana Patekar, Tanushree was mercilessly trolled for making public appearances. However, Tanushree lashed out at the trollers and attended Navratri functions. Recently, Tanushree Dutta was snapped with her sister, Ishita Dutta and brother-in-law, Vatsal Seth at Navaratri and Durga Puja celebrations.

After filing FIR against Nana, Tanushree Dutta had lashed out at Rakhi Sawant after the latter accused Dutta of raping her. Later, Tanushree gave it back at Rakhi and called her a dirty and characterless woman. In a statement, Tanushree had said, “My parents always told me to choose my friends very carefully and I learnt to live by that advice. I simply avoid at all cost people I think are not good for me.

So it's disgusting when uncouth, uneducated, dirty, downmarket, classless, characterless, perverted, degraded abominations like Rakhi Sawant claim to ever be friends with me.”
